Today and every day, we express sincere gratitude to our fallen heroes. We honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. As we remember those lost, we also thank those serving, those who have served, and the military families that support them.

Middle School Yearbooks have arrived and were distributed to students. There are some extra yearbooks that are for sale. Last year's 2020 books are $10 and this year's 2021 books are $20. Payment in the form of cash or check is accepted. Checks can be made out to Balfour. Students can go to Mrs. Younkin to purchase.
Today, our fifth-graders took a walking tour around the middle school to prepare for next year! Thank you to our amazing student tour guides for leading the way!
Thank you to our custodian, maintenance, and grounds crew for all of your hard work and dedication to keeping our schools safe, clean, and sanitized! Throughout the pandemic, they have been on the frontlines, disinfecting and deep cleaning our buildings, working tirelessly to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, ensuring that our schools are a safe learning environment for all students and staff. Their dedication has provided us the opportunity for full-time instruction, with activities and athletics being able to continue.
Congratulations to 7th-grader Maranda Monst! Maranda was the winner of our raffle for an Amazon Fire tablet! She purchased her ticket through the LiveSchool program, a digital system that rewards students for making good choices and showing positive behavior. They can then spend their points to purchase a variety of rewards provided by Westfall Middle School.

Happy School Nurse Appreciation Day to the best there is! Today and every day, we are grateful for the thoughtful leadership and care that District Nurse Nancy Downing provides for our school. We would also like to extend our gratitude to Janet Wright and her dedicated assistance this year, improving the health of our students and staff. We applaud you both for the tremendous work you do and wish you, with great respect and admiration, a happy and well-deserved National School Nurse Day!

On Friday, April 16, Westfall had a virtual Future Problem Solvers Ohio State Bowl in the WMS library. Seven teams, 27 students, competed against teams from across the state of Ohio. They were invited to compete based on their qualifying booklet about Human Environmental Impact. For the State Bowl, each team wrote an eleven-page booklet in two hours on the topic of Personalized Medicine.

School Lunch Hero Day showcases the professionals who serve our students each day. This year, our Food Services staff has gone above & beyond the call of duty. Our community saw firsthand their extraordinary efforts of feeding students during COVID-19, truly earning them the title of School Lunch Heroes! We celebrate their efforts and give them our gratitude!
